Sober. Dignified. Creative. Woman.

Hello! I live in a small, rural town in Northern California. I'm a former wine bar owner, lifelong seeker + recovering perfectionist. I am a person who no longer drinks alcohol and I use several different ways (journaling, art, podcasting, 12-step meetings, online sober communities, etc.) to help me process that monumental, life-changing decision.

When I got sober on February 3, 2015, I decided to start writing and sharing from this new perspective of being a woman in her forties who was living and recovering and actively choosing not to numb out. I have worked hard over these past few years to create a life I no longer want to escape from. I share my creative and personal pursuits here in this space, as well as my struggles and successes with sobriety, in the hopes that it might help another person who shares my common problem with alcohol.

A month after I quit drinking, I re-enrolled in college (after a 25+ year hiatus) and declared art as my major. Now I create art every single day and credit this practice as the path to my spiritual overhaul and creative awakening.

I co-host The Unruffled Podcast with Sondra Primeaux and we talk about where creativity and recovery intersect and how we no longer survive, but thrive, in our recoveries and creative pursuits.

Iā€™m an abstract painter, live by the mantra grace over drama and in 2018, I self-published a book that shares how I found my visual voice. You can work with me one-on-one, too, by clicking here.

Welcome.  I'm so glad you're here.
