SPRING 2024 NO 3. - I AM NOT MY MISTAKES (IT'S GOOD TO BE A GIRL)

this spring 2024 collection was created last year, a few months after i joined the artist co-op, Moonflower Studio, in berkeley, ca. i was timid + shy about making art in front of eight other established + talented female artists. this series helped me get over that fear + dive into
i decided to embed words on the blank canvas + those words live on in the under-paintings. this process allowed me to just BEGIN. i also used pages from a japanese rice paper calendar for the numbers, as well as mixed media from various magazines, tissue paper, 8-pointed stars for their spiritual significance, acrylic paint + a cohesive color palette that included black + gold as a staple throughout this series.
